Job summary

Grand Rapids Symphony is seeking a Director of Operations to oversee concert execution, calendar development, budget management, and production logistics in close collaboration with artistic leadership.

You will supervise staff, manage contracts, ensure safety and compliance, and coordinate with venues, while delivering high-quality performances and maintaining professional standards across all productions in Grand Rapids.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in orchestra operations or closely related field.
• Strong organizational skills with high standards for quality and detail.
• Ability to multi-task and work under pressure while maintaining professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day concert execution for all events on the orchestra calendar.
• Collaborate with the SVP/GM and artistic leaders on production details and scheduling.
• Develop and manage the symphony's master calendar in line with contracts and venue agreements.
• Serve as primary day-to-day contact with venues for scheduling, operations, and production.
• Lead and supervise Production Stage Manager and Artistic Operations Manager.
• Coordinate with personnel for payroll reporting under the Master Agreement when needed.
• Develop budgets and monitor expenses for orchestra programs.
