Job summary

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. in San Diego seeks ambitious software engineers to join our vision and image processing effort on Qualcomm SoCs.

The role covers the full product life cycle from prototyping to deployment in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. You will design and implement vision pipelines, work across SW/FW/HW teams, and own features from bring-up to customer integration, with opportunities to interact with OEMs and ISVs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
• Experience with embedded software, OS knowledge, and hardware interfaces.
• Strong C/C++, Python, and debugging skills across embedded platforms.
• Experience with ML/vision is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement vision/image processing pipelines on Qualcomm SoCs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (SW/FW/HW) to define specs and own features from design to commercialization.

General Summary:

We are seeking ambitious, bright and innovative software engineers and to-be leaders to be part of this effort.

This position is not eligible for Qualcomm immigration sponsorship.

Job activities span the whole product life cycle from early R&D prototyping to commercial deployment. The environment is fast-paced and requires cross-functional interactions on a daily basis, so good communication, planning and execution skills are a must.

• Machine learning, Image processing and computer vision knowledge or API/SDK development experience
• Operating system knowledge and computer architecture related project experience
• Solid hands‑on software design and development experience on complex embedded computing platforms.
• Strong programming experience in C/C++/Python/STL, as well as hands‑on experience debugging complex embedded software and with version‑based tools.
• Ability to contribute to all phases of software development - bring‑up, design, deployment, and customer support.
• Demonstrated ability to work with engineers, partners and customers, and across the different geographical sites and technology domains (Software/firmware/hardware).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in embedded system software development including kernels, device drivers and board‑support packages is a plus.
• Previous projects’ github link if available

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

Responsibilities:

Design and implementation of vision and image processing API/pipelines on Qualcomm SoCs and platforms, closely collaborate with cross‑functional teams (SW/FW/HW) and domain/technology experts to understand and define specifications, and serve as feature owner for software design/implementation/commercialization, and integrate/validate software in a larger system. Actively engage with internal clients (Camera/Video/XR technology areas), OEMs, Tier‑1s and ISVs to implement solutions based on of Qualcomm Computer Vision offerings.

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits:

$99,500.00 - $149,300.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales‑incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
