Job summary

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Computer Vision Systems Engineer to join the Computer Vision Systems team. You will lead design and prototyping of CV features on Snapdragon Vision API, collaborating with hardware, software, and product teams.

You will develop documentation and sample materials for developers, ensure KPI targets, and contribute to end-to-end deployment on cutting-edge devices across Snapdragon platforms.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of CV concepts, algorithms, and deep-learning-based vision pipelines.
• 3–5 years of hands-on experience developing computer vision applications or libraries.
• Proficiency in designing and implementing products using vision APIs, following established standards and best practices.
• Strong coding and debugging skills in C/C++ and Python, with the ability to rapidly prototype and evaluate CV features on device.

Responsibilities

We’re looking for a Computer Vision Systems Engineer who thrives at the intersection of algorithms, hardware, and real-world productization. You’ll help define and deliver the Snapdragon Vision API based features, enabling developers and OEMs to build breakthrough CV experiences on cutting- edge hardware. Experience with CV hardware accelerators and OpenCV is a plus.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
• Master's degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.
• PhD in Computer or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related work experience.

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of CV concepts, algorithms, and deep-learning-based vision pipelines, with a track record of delivering commercial CV solutions.
• 3–5 years of hands-on experience developing computer vision applications or libraries.
• Proficiency in designing and implementing products using vision APIs, following established standards and best practices.
• Strong coding and debugging skills in C/C++ and Python, with the ability to rapidly prototype and evaluate CV features on device.

Preferred Skills

• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience with CV and ML libraries such as OpenCV, TensorFlow, and PyTorch (TorchVision), including image processing and deep learning workflows.
• Working knowledge of embedded systems and architectures, especially hardware CV accelerators.
• Experience producing high-quality API documentation and technical materials.
• Familiarity with commercial software development practices and SDLC methodologies.

Pay range and Other Compensation & Benefits

$155,400.00 - $233,200.00

The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted. Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Qualcomm. We also offer a competitive annual discretionary bonus program and opportunity for annual RSU grants (employees on sales-incentive plans are not eligible for our annual bonus).
