About the role:
We're looking for a Computer Vision Engineer with a strong background in software engineering and a deep understanding of 3D vision. You'll be one of the early technical hires helping us build the core systems that power our visual computing pipeline---from image capture to geometric reconstruction. This is a full-time role based in SFO with remote flexibility available for highly qualified candidates. It's ideal for someone who thrives in small teams, values ownership, and wants to have a real impact on both research and production.
What You'll Do:
- Develop and implement algorithms in 3D computer vision (SfM, SLAM, depth estimation, multi-view stereo, robotics & navigation, etc.)
- Write clean, maintainable code that bridges research and real-world performance
- Work closely with our hardware team to co-design our overall product
- Design and optimize vision pipelines for large-scale processing and efficient runtime
- Prototype quickly, iterate on ideas, and own projects from concept to deployment
- Help shape our technical roadmap and codebase as we grow
Requirements:
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- Strong research experience in computer vision, robotics, or related areas (e.g., academic research, publications, or thesis work)
- The ability to ship production code from the get-go, specifically in Python and C
- Experience with one or more of: SfM, SLAM, or depth estimation/multi-view stereo
- Familiarity with tools like PyTorch, OpenCV, and similar libraries
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with minimal structure
Nice to Have:
- Exposure to neural methods for SfM, SLAM, and depth estimation
- Experience integrating computer vision with custom camera systems or sensor hardware
- Familiarity with GPU acceleration
- Prior startup experience or interest in early-stage environments
- Contributions to open-source vision tools or published academic work
What we Offer:
- Meaningful equity and competitive compensation
- A collaborative and low-bureaucracy team culture
- The opportunity to work across the stack: from hardware integration to high-level vision systems
- Ownership over core technical challenges from day one
- Flexibility: we prefer on-site availability to integrate and work with the team
Location:
This role is based onsite in the beautiful San Francisco Hybrid or remote arrangements may be considered for exceptional candidates.
Benefits:
- We're excited to offer comprehensive Health, Vision, and Dental coverage, along with a 401K plan. Plus, you'll enjoy unlimited vacation time to recharge and relax!
- Compensation: Base salary ranging from 160,000 to 240,000 (USD) in addition to stock options and performance-based commission.
