Qualifications

  • Current CompTIA A+ and Network+ certifications.
  • At least 2 years of work experience utilizing CompTIA certifications.
  • Associate’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related discipline from an accredited institution (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of one year experience in teaching or a related field; previous Job Corps experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and instructional skills.
  • Ability to create an engaging and interactive classroom experience.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management abilities.
  • Valid Driver’s License and meet company insurability requirements.
  • Physical ability to sit, stand, climb, walk, lift, pull, push, carry, reach, stoop, and crouch; demonstrated ability to lift 40 pounds or request assistance as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Provide students with industry‑recognized instruction and training in CompTIA A+ leading to full‑time jobs, higher education, and/or advanced training for graduates.
  • Develop engaging course materials, lectures, and assignments aligned with certification objectives.
  • Deliver interactive instruction, answer student questions, and facilitate discussions.
  • Grade assignments and exams, providing constructive feedback to students.
  • Ensure strict confidentiality of sensitive information and integrity of student data.
  • Ensure the Center meets or exceeds DOL/Company performance goals.
  • Provide academic training leading to GED/HSD completion and improved literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Offer comprehensive, individualized case management that ensures student progress, achievement, and completion of the Job Corps program.
  • Provide students with job leads and monitor placement of all graduates.
  • Maintain a well‑organized classroom environment conducive to student learning.
  • Hold students accountable for following the Center’s dress code and behavioral standards of conduct.
  • Maintain personal attendance, accountability, and work productivity standards.
  • Supervise and manage the student population, taking swift and appropriate action to positively influence behavior.
  • Show respect and courtesy to students and hold them accountable for their actions.
  • Ensure quality programs and services for students, pursuing improvement and enhancement of services.
  • Collaborate with staff from all departments to provide effective supervision and services.
  • Accept direction and supervision from the Center Director, Center Duty Officer, or Shift Manager, including assignments to temporarily perform responsibilities of other departments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

It helps eligible young people ages 16 through 24 complete their high school education, train for meaningful careers, and assist them with employment and independence. By offering hands‑on training in fields such as manufacturing, health care, technology, and construction, the program prepares students for lifelong careers in the industries that power America. The Shriver campus is located near Route 2 in Devens, MA and serves between 200 and 300 students at any given time with rolling admissions weekly.
