Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Provide companywide hardware/software support.
  • Install, test, and repair computers and peripherals.
  • Manage new user accounts creation and termination.
  • Troubleshoot hardware/software issues and support end users.
  • Research hardware/software markets and recommend improvements.
  • Assist in IT projects and QA, including tasks related to computer/server environments.
  • Maintain documentation and backup procedures.
  • Support Genesys/VoIP systems and daily IT operations.

Description

SUMMARY

The Computer Systems Technician II is responsible for providing companywide computer hardware/software support. The Tech II is self-motivated and has a concrete understanding of a diverse environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Other duties may be assigned.

  • Works on site with consistent attendance.
  • Maintain all office computer hardware/software directly and with contractor support as required.
  • Install, test, and repair of computers and peripheral equipment.
  • Manage new user accounts creation and termination.
  • Troubleshoot and analyze hardware/software issues and provide support to satisfy end user requests.
  • Research current hardware/software markets and recommend improvements to existing systems.
  • Assist in the implementation and completion of computer\Server-related projects.
  • Assist with Genesys queue maintenance and creation.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation.
  • Oversee and perform scheduled maintenance on computer hardware as necessary.
  • Assist IT team as requested including QA.
  • Check Datto Backups for issues and assist in document recovery when needed.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Management.

Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Self-Motivated, Concrete understanding of an I.T. environment.
  • Excellent communication skills to present technical and business information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent computer hardware skills, including PC and peripheral troubleshooting and repair.
  • Excellent software skills, including Windows operating systems, Networking, and Microsoft Office products. Including 365 and OS deployment
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality.
  • Active Directory Preferred
  • Microsoft Exchange/ Office 365
  • VoIP phone systems. Ring Central, Genesys Cloud Preferred
  • Scripting and command line interface experience (PowerShell, python, CLI etc.) Preferred
  • Basic or better networking knowledge Preferred
  • Familiarity with Windows servers
  • Research current hardware/software markets and recommend improvements to existing systems.
  • Oversee and perform scheduled maintenance on computer hardware as necessary.

Education and/or Experience

High School diploma or G.E.D; and working in a related Information Systems field; or equivalent and any combination of education, training, and/or 3-5 yrs experience in HelpDesk, which demonstrates ability to perform the duties described.

Language Skills

Ability to read, speak, and write effectively in English. Ability to interpret documents such as plan documents, memos, letters, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports, meeting notes, project documentation, and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before customers or employees of organization. Ability to effectively address or resolve customer service issues within guidelines of the position.

Reasoning Ability

Strong reasoning and analytical ability, including:

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
  • Ability to exercise reason and logic to resolve practical problems and create effective solutions.
  • Ability to analyze all relevant information and a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Valid, class C license in state working with no adverse driving record.
