Job summary

Spotline, Inc. seeks an experienced SAS Platform Engineer to oversee the SAS GRID environment, ensuring health, performance, and availability. The role includes implementing security measures, performing installations and upgrades, and developing SAS/R/Python scripts to support analytics workflows.

Collaboration with management and clients is essential as travel within the U.S. may be required. The candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering or related field

• Two years of experience in SAS (Enterprise Guide, Management Console), Linux, Shell Scripting, AWS.

Responsibilities

• SAS GRID Platform Management & Monitoring: maintain system health, performance, and availability.
• SAS Platform Security & Compliance: design and implement platform security using SAS Metadata, RHEL, and LSF.
• SAS Software Installation, Configuration & Upgrades: manage SAS 9x in a multi-node Linux environment.
• Programming & Script Development: develop SAS, R, Python scripts to support workflows.
• Issue Resolution & Technical Support: primary contact for critical SAS issues and escalated tickets.
• Cloud Platform Integration: work with AWS to deploy SAS workloads in cloud environments.
• Cross-Functional Interaction & Project Management: interact with management, clients, and stakeholders.

• SAS GRID Platform Management & Monitoring: Responsible for the continuous monitoring and maintenance of the SAS GRID platform, ensuring system health, performance, and availability.
• SAS Platform Security & Compliance: Design, implement, and maintain platform security measures using SAS Metadata, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and LSF (Load Sharing Facility).
• SAS Software Installation, Configuration & Upgrades: Install, configure, and manage various versions of SAS 9x suite in a multi-node Linux environment, ensuring smooth operation of the SAS software.
• Programming & Script Development: Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot scripts and programs in SAS, R, and Python to support ongoing analytical workflows and business requirements.
• Issue Resolution & Technical Support: Act as the primary point of contact for critical SAS-related technical issues, responding to and resolving escalated support tickets in a timely and efficient manner.
• Cloud Platform Integration: Gain familiarity with cloud environments, especially AWS, to support the integration and deployment of SAS-based workloads in cloud platforms.
• Cross-Functional Interaction & Project Management: Directly interact with management, clients, and other stakeholders to provide technical expertise on SAS platform capabilities and limitations.

Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering or a related field

Minimum experience: Two (2) years

Position requires two (2) years of experience, which must include two (2) years of experience in SAS (Enterprise Guide, Management Console), Linux, Shell Scripting, AWS. Travel required to the extent of relocating to various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S.
