Job Description

Position Overview

The Technical Lead possesses excellent knowledge in the field of Computer Science. They get to know each student, encouraging and influencing each one individually, while innovating, collaborating, and creating technology. The Technical Lead is responsible for creating a fun and effective learning environment for students to achieve and master the iCode belt system. They deliver instructional sessions and evaluate each student's progress in the program.

Key Responsibilities

1. Teach and educate students according to iCode guidelines.
2. Manage an orderly classroom at all times.
3. Provide meaningful feedback about class material and student dynamics in weekly status reports.
4. Assess, record, and report on students' development, progress, attainment, and behavior.
5. Communicate weekly updates to parents.
6. Treat students equally and fairly.
7. Present a professional manner at all times.
8. Maintain high classroom standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in HTML, JavaScript, Alice, and Python.
• Experience with GameMaker and Unity is desirable.
• Strong knowledge of Apple computers, devices, and operating systems.
• General knowledge of Agile methodologies.
• Positive attitude, outgoing personality, and excellent interpersonal skills.
• Dependable and flexible to work evenings and weekends.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work with students from K-12.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to perform well under pressure.
• High school diploma required.
• Current students in their freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior years of a BS in Computer Science are eligible.
• Master's in CS or related discipline is preferred.
• Exceptions can be made for graduates of the iCode Program or high school students with a focus on Computer Science and active leadership in a STEAM club.

Job Type: Part-time

Compensation: $15.00-$18.00 per hour, depending on qualifications
