Virginia Community Colleges is seeking a Computer Science Adjunct for the Summer and Fall 2026 semesters, responsible for planning and teaching courses both in person and online. The Germanna Community College is a two‑year public institution of higher education in the Virginia Community College System, serving students in the City of Fredericksburg and surrounding counties. The College seeks an adjunct faculty member to effectively plan and teach Computer Science courses, both in‑person and online, for up to 12 credit hours in the fall and spring semesters and/or up to 8 credit hours during summer sessions. Adjunct faculty are employed on a short‑term contract with no guarantee of continued employment. The position is located in Virginia and requires the instructor to reside within a reasonable commuting distance or be willing to relocate to ensure consistent, reliable attendance.
Provide quality instruction by meeting assigned classes regularly, submitting required records and reports routinely, teaching the prescribed courses of study with the established texts, and adhering to the statement on professional ethics in accordance with College policies, procedures, and regulations.
May be required to perform other duties as assigned and to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.
Salary is commensurate with rank and credentials.
