Job summary

Koniag IT Systems, LLC (KITS) is seeking a Computer Operator III to support our government customer in Baltimore, MD. The role operates and monitors data processing equipment and ensures efficient workflow.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent and at least 5+ years of personal computer experience are required.
• Four years of experience in a business mailroom, print operations, and/or mail sorting is required.
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university or related programs in data processing and computer operations is preferred.
• Experience with loading and maneuvering equipment safely and effectively is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Recommends improved service routines, production techniques and modifications or additions to equipment.
• Observes and controls the course of jobs being run on the computer system.
• Takes immediate action to correct any machine malfunction.
• Assists in the orientation of operators in a lower classification.
• Maintains an understanding of production practices and procedures and assists in the resolution of production problems and issues.
• Prepares and presents quantitative data regarding workflow processes and issues to management and supervisors.
• Maintains production efficiency by using sound judgments when problem solving, and through effective oral communication.
• Fulfills tasks of operators in a lower classification as needs arise.
• Acts in place of program manager when needs require.
• Maintains related logs and records.
• Performs clerical duties as assigned.
• Performs related work as assigned.
