Job summary

AmerisourceBergen Drug Corporation in the Newburgh, NY area is seeking an entry-level IT Operations professional to support deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of enterprise IT platforms.

You will follow documented troubleshooting steps, escalate issues when needed, and work under supervision to learn server and platform health, with a Sunday–Thursday 1:00pm–8:30pm shift.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience required.
• Less than 2 years of IT operations or related experience.
• Basic understanding of Windows/Linux server basics and virtualization concepts.
• Entry-level certifications (e.g., CompTIA Server+, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, AWS Cloud Practitioner) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of enterprise IT platforms and systems.
• Resolve routine system alerts following documented steps.
• Communicate status and health observations with the IT Operations team.
• Follow IT governance procedures and seek guidance for ambiguous tasks.
• Escalate security risks or unclear deployment requirements early.
• Make routine patching and log analysis decisions under guidance.

Shift Details: Full-Time | Sunday - Thursday 1:00pm - 8:30pm

Responsibilities

Delivers routine, clearly defined tasks to support the deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of enterprise IT platforms and systems. Applies standard practices to resolve routine system alerts and follows documented troubleshooting steps to maintain operational stability. Communicates primarily within the immediate IT Operations team, sharing progress, questions, and basic observations regarding server or platform health. Works within established IT governance procedures to assist with basic system lifecycle tasks, receiving regular direction and review from more senior systems administrators. Identifies straightforward improvements within daily system maintenance tasks and escalates infrastructure issues that fall outside standard procedures or are not clearly defined. Escalates unclear deployment requirements or security risks early and seeks confirmation before proceeding in ambiguous situations. Makes narrow to moderate decisions regarding routine system patching or log analysis, typically guided by prior examples and periodically reviewed.

Education

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience required.

Work Experience

• Less than 2 years of experience in IT operations, systems administration, helpdesk, or a related technical support field required. Ranges from beginning to moderate expertise in the primary domain of systems administration (e.g., Windows/Linux server basics, virtualization concepts).ed.

Skills and Knowledge

• May demonstrate early/starting expertise in an adjacent/new technical domain (e.g., cloud platforms) depending on role and experience.


• Requires close supervision for ambiguous work or atypical system configurations.


• Relevant entry-level certifications (e.g., CompTIA Server+, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, AWS Cloud Practitioner) preferred.

*This Salary Range reflects a National Average for this job. The actual range may vary based on your locale. Ranges in Colorado/California/Washington/New York/Hawaii/Vermont/Minnesota/Massachusetts/Illinois State-specific locations may be up to 10% lower than the minimum salary range, and 12% higher than the maximum salary range.
