Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an IT Operations Technician in Ohio to monitor enterprise computer systems, perform validations, and respond to incidents to minimize downtime. The role requires strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.

You will work 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, and may need to obtain a Gaming License. Training and collaboration across teams are expected to improve operational efficiency while meeting regulatory standards.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent IT operations experience.
  • Experience in monitoring computer systems or a technical operations center preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of Unix, Linux, AIX, VMS, DOS and command-line environments.
  • Familiarity with FTP/SFTP file transfer protocols.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with strong customer service.
  • Highly organized with attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Willingness to work 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Gaming License and pass a background check.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor enterprise computer systems to ensure maximum performance and availability.
  • Perform operational checklists, system validations, and routine monitoring.
  • Troubleshoot system, network, and application issues and escalate as needed.
  • Respond to incidents and assist with system recovery to minimize downtime.
  • Generate, review, and distribute operational reports with accuracy.
  • Document incidents, resolutions, and activities in tracking systems.
  • Communicate with gaming venues, regulatory agencies, software engineers, and internal teams to resolve issues.
  • Follow change management and escalation procedures.
  • Assist with implementing approved system changes and configurations.
  • Train and mentor new team members on procedures and best practices.
  • Support continuous improvement to enhance efficiency and service quality.
  • Maintain compliance with operational standards, audit requirements, and gaming regulations.

Requirements

  • Experience monitoring computer systems or working in a technical operations center is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of Unix, Linux, AIX, VMS, DOS, and command-line environments.
  • Familiarity with FTP/SFTP file transfer protocols.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with strong customer service skills.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Comfortable working independently while collaborating across multiple teams.
  • Willingness to work 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Gaming License and successfully complete a comprehensive background investigation.
