Aegis Worldwide client seeks an experienced CNC Turning Programmer to support programming and optimization of precision-machined components in a high-quality manufacturing environment in Missouri.

You will develop CNC lathe programs, select tooling, run prove-outs, troubleshoot, and collaborate with engineering, quality, and production to meet tight tolerances.

Qualifications

• 5+ years CNC turning programming experience with multi-axis lathes.
• Proficient in CAM software (Mastercam, Esprit, GibbsCAM, NX).
• Strong knowledge of G-Code, feeds, speeds, and machining principles.
• Read blueprints and interpret GD&T for tight tolerances.
• Experience with live tooling and Y-axis machining preferred.
• Collaborative problem-solver with clear communication.

Our client is seeking an experienced CNC Turning Programmer to support the programming and optimization of precision-machined components in a high-quality manufacturing environment. This individual will be responsible for developing CNC lathe programs, improving machining processes, troubleshooting production issues, and supporting new and existing jobs from start to finish. The ideal candidate has a strong background in precision turning and enjoys working on complex, tight-tolerance components.

Responsibilities

• Create, edit, and optimize CNC programs for multi-axis CNC lathes.
• Program new jobs using CAM software and make program revisions as needed.
• Develop efficient machining strategies to reduce cycle times and improve productivity.
• Select tooling, inserts, workholding, and cutting parameters for optimal performance.
• Perform machine prove-outs and troubleshoot programming and machining issues.
• Read and interpret blueprints, CAD models, GD&T, and customer specifications.
• Work closely with engineering, quality, and production teams to ensure parts meet all quality standards.
• Support first-piece inspections and implement process improvements to reduce scrap and downtime.
• Maintain accurate program documentation and setup sheets.
• Assist with continuous improvement initiatives and manufacturing process development.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of CNC programming experience focused on CNC turning.
• Experience programming CNC lathes using CAM software such as Mastercam, Esprit, GibbsCAM, NX, or similar.
• Strong knowledge of G-Code, tooling selection, feeds, speeds, and machining principles.
• Experience with multi-axis lathes, live tooling, and Y-axis machining preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret GD&T.
• Experience machining tight-tolerance components in a precision manufacturing environment.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Experience

• Programming multi-axis turning centers with live tooling.
• Experience with Swiss lathes is a plus.
• Aerospace, defense, medical, or other high-precision manufacturing experience.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
