Base pay range

$27.00/hr - $32.00/hr

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma, GED, or trade school education.
  • Proficiency in using computerized machine controls, weight scales, comparators, microscopes, precision measurement instruments, hand tools, and specialized trade tools.
  • Experience with computers for data entry and document production.
  • Mechanical aptitude and strong mathematical skills.
  • Ability to proofread documents, read blueprints, train others, and complete production paperwork.

Responsibilities:

  • Work from programming, operational data, drawings, and setup instructions to define and code tool arrangements, fixturing, material clamping methods, machine calibration, and console settings for operations such as boring, milling, drilling, threading, and contouring.
  • Arrange, mount, and secure tooling in machines, racks, magazines, or turrets; mount, align, and secure holding fixtures; set stops; calibrate fixtures or workpieces to material reference points; restock machines with materials; and keep multiple machines set up and running.
  • Load and operate multiple machines; adjust and reset machine and fixture stops to maintain tolerance requirements; sharpen tools as necessary.
  • Follow detailed instructions, standard coding, and operational data to change or mount tools and position workpieces.
  • Re-stock machines with materials and oils as needed; keep materials, fixtures, and clamps free of chips to ensure proper positioning.
  • Operate control consoles to orient spindles and check work positions at reference points.
  • Recognize and report machine malfunctions or tooling issues; maintain equipment and work area cleanliness; observe safety rules and regulations.
