Job summary

Aegis Worldwide in Hickory, NC is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist/Programmer for a direct-hire role in a growing precision shop. You will take prints from blueprint to finished part, programming, setting up, and running CNC mills and lathes, not just operating.

The position requires hands-on programming with Mastercam or Fusion 360, strong GD&T knowledge, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced shop. Competitive schedule and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• 3+ years CNC machining experience required; 5+ years preferred.
• Hands-on CNC programming experience required.
• Experience programming with Mastercam or Fusion 360 strongly preferred.
• Experience with CNC mills and/or CNC lathes.
• 3-axis and/or 5-axis machining experience preferred.
• GD&T knowledge strongly preferred.
• Ability to perform own setups and independently run parts.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate CNC mills and/or lathes.
• Create and modify CNC programs using Mastercam, Fusion 360, conversational programming, or similar CAM software.
• Read and interpret complex blueprints and technical drawings.
• Machine components to blueprint and dimensional specifications.
• Perform setups, test runs, offsets, and program adjustments.
• Inspect finished components to ensure dimensional accuracy.
• Apply GD&T principles when interpreting prints and inspecting parts.
• Troubleshoot machining, tooling, programming, and quality issues.
• Optimize cutting paths, tooling, feeds, speeds, and cycle times.
• Work independently in a fast-paced job shop environment.
• Support AS9100 and ISO quality requirements.

Job description

We are working with a growing precision manufacturing company in the the Hickory, NC area seeking experienced CNC Machinist/Programmers to join its team. This is a direct-hire opportunity with a stable, family-owned manufacturer that is adding to its team due to continued growth.

This is not strictly a CNC operator position. We are looking for someone who can program, set up, and run CNC equipment and independently take a part from blueprint to finished product.

Compensation & Schedule

• $32–$35/hour, depending on experience
• Significant overtime opportunity
• Approximately 50–55 hours per week
• Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM
• Every other Saturday, 7:00 AM–12:00 PM
