The MD Department of Health is seeking a qualified candidate to provide managerial direction for IT activities in Annapolis, MD. This role includes supervising staff and managing a budget while ensuring security compliance.

LOCATION OF POSITION: MDH Anne Arundel County Department of Health, Annapolis, MD 21401
The main purpose of this position is to provide managerial level direction for multiple information technology activities and staff within the Bureau of Administration, specifically Operations. This position directs and manages the work of the Information Technology program for the Anne Arundel County Department of Health. The position supervises a staff of 7 employees, manages an annual operating budget of $600,000 and total Department IT services assets of $8 million. The position functions as Security Officer for the entire Department's electronic data. This position is designated as Emergency Essential.
Qualified candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or another information technology-related field, including coursework in local or wide area networks.
Qualified candidates must also possess five (5) years of experience planning, integrating, and maintaining software and hardware for local or wide area networks. This experience must include at least three (3) years of experience supervising information technology staff, such as desktop and network support technicians, database administrators, or software programmers.
Note: Thirty (30) credit hours from an accredited college or university may be substituted for the required education.
