Job summary

United Global Technologies is seeking a local IT Technician in Indianapolis, IN for 1st shift. Training is onsite, followed by a schedule of 2 days in the office and 3 days remote.

The role involves resolving moderate hardware and software issues, hardware installations, and supporting software deployment efforts. Requires an Associate degree or technical schooling, 3–4 years of PC/OS experience, and Dell hardware certification.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or Technical School certification.
  • 3-4 years’ experience with PC and operating systems, Dell hardware certification; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
  • Microsoft A+, MCP and Network+ certifications preferred. Advanced knowledge and understanding of computer technology.

Responsibilities

  • Installs a wide variety of computer hardware equipment.
  • Identifies when software licensing needs to be obtained and installs software of moderate complexity.
  • Recommends standard software that will meet customer needs and assist the Software Deployment team in troubleshooting instances when packages cannot be deployed as part of large-scale software deliveries.
  • Provides remote hands-on work for other IT groups or outsourcers.
  • Troubleshoots and repairs computer software problems of moderate complexity which may involve a removal/reinstall of the application or system registry/file changes to fix the incident using more advanced diagnostic tools.
  • Participates in single and large-scale moves.
  • Performs Tech Refresh installations and end user acceptance testing.
  • Participates in other lights-on projects where technical resources are needed.
  • May attend regularly scheduled project meetings and provide technical and logistical advice to a project team.

Job description

W-2 NO SUBS, NO SPONSORSHIP- Must be local in the Indianapolis, IN area to be onsite as required.1st shift, Monday - Friday. Training is onsite and then 2 days in office and 3 days remote after that.

Responsible for troubleshooting and repairing computer software installation and hardware problems of moderate complexity.

Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:

Installs a wide variety of computer hardware equipment.
