Job summary

Aurora Health Care is seeking a CAD technician to prepare architectural drawings for CAFM systems and maintain room/equipment records in AutoCAD. The role emphasizes standard layering conventions and as-built updates to support facility management.

• Create room and equipment records within AutoCAD for use with the CAFM system, following company standards and conventions.
• Develop standard layering conventions to be used by all third party design/consulting firms and maintain the CAD/CAFM standards manual.
• Update drawings with as-built data.
• Continue to develop the CAFM system, providing recommendations on improvements or added functionality.
• Maintain and update the Facilities department’s web presence.
• May train and develop other associates.
• Works with commissioning vendors, architects and engineers to create Excel data transition documents.

Licensure, Registration, And/or Certification Required

• None Required.

Education Required

• Bachelor's degree in information technology or related field.

Experience Required

• Typically requires 1 year of experience in computer aided drafting using AutoCAD or Revit software or equivalent technical training.
• Experience with space management preferred
• Experience with Facilities Management systems like Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

• Advanced computer skills and database proficiency, along with knowledge of Archibus and AutoCAD/Revit.
• Understanding of CAFM/IWMS systems and related applications (CMMS).
• Knowledge of facilities functions, architectural industry best practices and CAD standards and relational database concepts.
• Ability to understand relational database concepts and prepare, import and manipulate information in spreadsheets.
• Proficient in the use of MS Office products.
• Possess strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
• Strong interpersonal skills and effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to teach others and develop user documentation as necessary.
• Ability to work independently or collaboratively to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
• New teammates will be expected to perform AutoCAD drawing updates within the first two weeks
• Teammates will be expected to coordinate site visits, get proper badging, work with onsite facilities management personnel for access to all spaces, then walk the facility annotating on hardcopy or on an iPad existing drawings to show corrections needed to update the drawings to reflect current conditions (“redline” the drawings, then update the drawings in AutoCAD).

Where You Will Work

• Travel is required to our Midwest sites near Chicago and Milwaukee in order to perform site visits of our Acute care sites to update their architectural drawings.
• Work is planned to expand to our sites in Georgia (Macon and Rome) and into Charlotte. Need to be near an airport that has easy access to these locations.
• Milage and parking to/from airports is reimbursed

• Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job.
