Job summary

Cochran, a growing civil engineering firm with 7 Missouri offices, seeks a CAD Tech - Survey (CAD Drafter/Designer) to join our team. You will transform concepts into precise buildable drawings, collaborating with engineers to ensure accuracy and efficiency from design through completion.

Responsibilities include drafting using CAD/Civil 3D, creating maps and drawings from surveys, and providing drafting support to Engineers and Surveyors.

Qualifications

• Must have an understanding of Civil CAD-based drafting procedures.
• Proficiency with Civil 3D software.
• Draft plans and detailed drawings for structures, installations, and construction projects.
• Draw maps, diagrams, and profiles using cross-sections and surveys.
• Correlate, interpret, and modify data from topographical surveys and reports.
• Finish and duplicate drawings and documentation packages per specifications.
• Review rough sketches and drawings to conform to design concepts.
• Provide Engineers and Surveyors with drafting support.

Cochran's is seeking a CAD Tech -Survey at any one of our 7 locations (Union, St. Louis, Wentzville, Farmington, KC, Ozark, and Osage Beach) to join our growing team.

Position Overview

Join our civil engineering team as a CAD Drafter/Designer, creating precise technical drawings that bring infrastructure and site development projects to life. You’ll collaborate with engineers to turn concepts into buildable plans, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency from design through completion.

Key Responsibilities:

• Must have an understanding of Civil CAD-based drafting procedures.
• Produce drawings using computer-assisted drafting systems (CAD), Civil 3D software
• Draft plans and detailed drawings for structures, installations, and construction various projects
• Draw maps, diagrams, and profiles, using cross-sections and surveys, to represent elevations, topographical contours, and structures
• Correlate, interpret, and modify data obtained from topographical surveys, well logs, and geophysical prospecting reports
• Finish and duplicate drawings and documentation packages, according to required mediums and specifications for reproduction, photography, or other duplicating methods
• Review rough sketches, drawings, specifications, and other engineering data received from Civil Engineers to ensure that they conform to design concepts
• Provide Engineers and Surveyors with drafting support

Qualifications

• 2-5 years civil or land surveying experience, preferred
• Proficiency with Civil 3D, Microsoft Office
