Role Description

We are seeking a full-time CAD Drafter to join our Survey Department in Auburn, WA. This is an on-site role. The CAD Drafter will be responsible for producing detailed survey documents and maps using Civil 3D. Typical work includes creating exhibit maps, site plans, Records of Survey, boundary line adjustments (BLA’s), topographic maps, plats, and subdivision maps. Additional responsibilities include:

• Collaborating with licensed land surveyors to ensure drawings meet project, industry, and municipal standards.
• Preparing legal descriptions, easements, reservations, and related land development documents.
• Assisting with public and client meetings as needed.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Civil 3D (survey commands, data import/export, survey databases).
• Minimum 5 years’ experience preparing legal documents and survey drawings.
• Skilled in generating 3D surfaces and processing field data.
• Strong attention to detail and drafting accuracy.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Adobe PDF (or equivalent).
• Team-oriented with excellent collaboration skills.
• Less than 5 years’ drafting experience may be considered if supplemented by up to 2 years of survey field crew experience.
• Prior experience in a similar role strongly preferred.
