Job summary

Sapphire Recruitment is seeking a CAD Designer to join a prestigious manufacturer near North Syracuse, NY. This role supports a fast-paced engineering and sales environment and offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to custom engineered systems.

Duties include creating and updating accurate 3D models and 2D drawings, maintaining CAD files in Autodesk Vault, and collaborating with Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales, Marketing and Project Management to meet drawing requests on schedule.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of parametric modeling / CAD experience preferred.
• Experience with Autodesk Inventor preferred.
• Strong communication and problem solving skills with excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Create and update accurate 3D models and 2D CAD drawings for custom engineered systems, custom equipment, and standard mechanical designs.
• Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Sales, Marketing, and Project Management to complete drawing requests accurately and on schedule.
• Maintain CAD files and engineering data within Autodesk Vault using established folder structures and naming standards.
• Develop intelligent models and drawing tools to reduce drawing/document creation time and improve efficiency.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by incorporating internal and external customer feedback and identifying opportunities to improve CAD processes.
