Job summary

UVA Community Health in Manassas, VA is seeking a CT Technologist to join weekend night shifts (Fri-Sun 7p-7a). The role supports physicians by preparing patients and operating CT equipment to obtain diagnostic scans.

Requires High School Diploma or GED; ARRT radiography program; 1 year CT experience preferred; ARRT CT certification within 12 months. Strong patient care, communication, and teamwork are essential. Base pay ranges $40.75–$50.00 hourly; sign-on bonus offered.

JOB SUMMARY

The CT technologist assists physicians in the performance of diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures by preparing the patient and operating the CT equipment in order to obtain diagnostic scans.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

High School Diploma or GED required. 2 Year/Associate's Degree preferred. Graduate of ARRT- approved Radiography Program.

Experience

1 year of experience in CT preferred. Refer to the Life Support Training Policy for additional details.

Licensure

Certified and registered by ARRT in CT - RT(R)(CT) within 12 months of hire required.

Additional Skills/Requirements Required

Analytical ability, basic computer skills, good communication skills, ability to adapt to procedures based on age of patient, ability to interpret information to identify each patient's requirements for care relative to his/her age specific needs. Prepares patient for procedures. Operates CT equipment.

  • Performs any necessary warm-up and quality control procedures on the equipment.
  
  
  • Uses protocols to obtain images of internal structures.
  
  
  • Critiques images for quality and makes necessary judgments to determine if repeat is necessary.

The base compensation range for this role is $40.75 - $50.00 hourly.

Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education. Please note that the pay range does not include any applicable incentive compensation programs such as shift differentials, clinical ladders, and other incentives that may be available for those in eligible positions.
