Job Summary
Performs a variety of procedures applying ionizing radiation and conducts CT scans as directed. Communicates effectively with physicians and other healthcare personnel.
Essential Functions

- Identify patients and procedures, communicate with nursing or physicians regarding patient needs, including IV sedation or biopsies. Complete questionnaires for patients aged 12-55. Position patients accurately for CT procedures, ensuring optimal visibility and adherence to protocols. Perform procedures efficiently, document completion times, and ensure films are archived and reviewed promptly by radiologists. Prepare and maintain the exam room, supplies, and equipment, including proper IV contrast techniques. Respond appropriately to codes and emergencies.
- Explain CT procedures to patients and families, gather patient history, and inform about delays. Assist and train coworkers and students as needed.
- Verify requisitions, handle billing and charges accurately, and operate PACS system correctly. Report equipment issues and complete necessary documentation. Fill out contrast and CT forms, coordinate with radiologists on protocols, and ensure procedures follow prescribed protocols. Recognize anatomy and pathology relevant to scans. Perform calibration as needed and maintain competency in the CT department. Conduct point-of-care testing.

Supervisory/Management Responsibility
- This is a non-management position reporting to a supervisor, manager, or director.
Minimum Requirements
- Education: Certification from an accredited Radiologic Technology program. Graduate of such a program.
- Experience: None required.

Required Certifications, Registrations, Licenses
- ARRT registration in Radiography and CT
- CPR certification
- SCQRSA License

- Excellent customer service skills

- Basic computer proficiency
- Knowledge of office equipment (fax, copier)
- Data entry proficiency
