Description

As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will be responsible for providing the platform for mission-critical cloud systems to maintain constant uptime, scale seamlessly, and support new applications and services. The successful candidate will be highly self-motivated with a passion for excellence, quality, and detail. The SRE will support operations and work closely with developers and architects to improve stability, security, and scalability.

As an SRE at Apple, you will:

1. Operate, monitor, and triage all aspects of our production and non-production environments.
2. Design, build, and implement solutions for current and future issues.
3. Prepare alert procedures, runbooks, and collaborate with offshore SRE teams.
4. Automate deployment and orchestration of services into the cloud environment.
5. Participate in capacity planning, scale testing, and disaster recovery exercises.
6. Support partner teams, including engineering, QA, and program management.
7. Maintain relationships with internal and external vendors.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, engineering, or related experience; advanced degree preferred.
• 5+ years in a Site Reliability Engineering role focused on infrastructure.
• Expertise in cloud operations, especially infrastructure-as-a-service (compute, storage, network virtualization).
• Proficiency in Golang and Java.
• Experience with large-scale multi-tenant managed infrastructure.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across the infrastructure stack.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with IaaS orchestration tools (OpenStack, CloudStack).
• Knowledge of Linux virtualization (Libvirt, QEMU, KVM).
• Experience with monitoring tools like Splunk, Grafana, Prometheus.

Apple offers a competitive total compensation package, including base pay, stock options, benefits, and opportunities for growth. The pay range for this role is $135,400 to $250,600, depending on experience and location.
