  • Ph.D. or M.S. in physics, electrical engineering, or applied math.
  • Strong background in computational plasma and high-energy-density physics.
  • Experience with Screamer, MAGIC, HYDRA or similar codes.
  • Proficiency in MHD and PIC simulations.
  • Strong programming in Python, Fortran, C++, or MATLAB.
  • Experience with HPC environments and parallel computing.
  • Solid grounding in electromagnetism, mechanics, or statistical physics.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and run simulations for pulsed-power systems using MHD, PIC, and circuit models.
  • Utilize Screamer circuit code for high-voltage pulse modeling.
  • Perform MHD simulations of plasma dynamics in fusion and Z-pinch setups.
  • Implement PIC simulations for plasma interactions and beam dynamics.
  • Model impedance matching in Marx generators and energy coupling.
  • Collaborate with experimentalists to validate models.
  • Develop HPC tools and optimize codes.
