  • Internal Job Title: Senior Expert I/Senior Expert II, Data Science
  • Location: Cambridge, MA, onsite
Responsibilities
  1. Design medicinal chemistry efforts using knowledge of SAR, target biology, and predictive methods for assessing activity, properties, PK/PD, and synthetic feasibility; familiarity with molecular dynamics, free energy calculations, solvation tools, quantum chemical calculations is a plus.
  2. Apply expertise in machine learning and AI to small molecule/cyclic peptide drug discovery, integrating digital technologies with experimental data.
  3. Stay updated with scientific literature and collaborate with internal and external scientists to incorporate biological insights into lead characterization and screening.
  4. Work with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate decision-making from target identification to candidate nomination, developing predictive models related to activity and ADME properties.
  5. Lead hypothesis generation and molecular design to improve clinical success rates for small molecules and cyclic peptides.
  6. Conduct cross-disciplinary mechanistic studies using physics-based modeling, biophysical characterization, and cellular validation to inform strategic targeting and mechanisms of action.
Minimum Requirements
  1. Advanced degree in computational chemistry, physics, biology, or related fields; candidates with a laboratory background and strong computational skills are encouraged.
  2. At least 2 years of experience in a drug discovery environment working with project teams.
  3. Proven track record of innovation impacting discovery projects.
  4. Familiarity with drug design tools, high-performance computing, and a strong publication record.

  • Rigorous in idea substantiation, design, and experimentation.
  • Team-oriented with multitasking and leadership capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.

Compensation

Salary range: $119,700 - $222,300 for Senior Expert I, and $132,300 - $245,700 for Senior Expert II. Final salary depends on experience, location, and other factors. Compensation may include bonuses, stock units, and benefits.
