Job summary

Riverside Research Institute seeks a motivated summer intern to contribute to computational electromagnetics. You will work with our Applied Mathematics and Physics Solutions team on Maxwell's equations, tool development, data analysis, and visualization.

The role offers hands-on experience with simulation tools and collaboration with senior researchers. The position targets students entering junior year in Fall 2027, with 1–2 years of scripting and C/C++/Fortran experience, Linux CLI

Qualifications

• Students entering at least their junior year in Fall 2027 in an undergraduate program in Physics, Astronomy, Computer Science,Applied Mathematics or related field
• 1-2 years of experience with scripting (python)
• 1-2 years of experience with C, C++ or Fortran
• 1-2 years of familiarity with using the Linux command line
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Must be a US citizen

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing, testing, or optimizing tools that solve Maxwell's equations
• Contribute to code development, data analysis, and/or visualization
• Participate in group meetings and present findings or progres
