Job summary

Brookston Energy, Inc. seeks a Compressor Mechanic to perform daily compressor operations, preventive maintenance, repairs, and engine swings at our oil and gas facilities. This role is outdoors and requires safe, reliable operation in varying weather conditions.

Work closely with the Midstream Foreman to ensure compressors and related equipment are maintained and operating correctly. Entry-level candidates (0–5 years) are welcome to apply, with a monthly vehicle allowance and fuel card provided.

Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Must live within 30 miles of a Field Office.
  • Must have access to a personal truck for mobilization with monthly vehicle allowance and fuel card.
  • Must be available to participate in the on-call rotation (typically 1–2 weeks per month).
  • Entry-level position; 0–5 years of experience operating natural gas compressors is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor compressors daily to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Perform repairs and assist with routine maintenance and major compressor work.
  • Generate daily reports to track performance and runtime efficiency.
  • Monitor oil and coolant levels at each facility and order replenishment supplies as needed.
  • Report all parts used during maintenance and repairs to support inventory.

Job description

The Compressor Mechanic performs daily compressor operations, including preventive maintenance, repairs, engine swings, and the overall upkeep of compression equipment. This position works closely with the Midstream Foreman to help ensure compressors, separation equipment, and other facility equipment are properly maintained, operating safely, and functioning reliably. Work is performed primarily outdoors around natural gas compression and production facilities with regular exposure to changing weather conditions, noise, machinery, and potential other hazards of oil and gas operations.

Key Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Must live within 30 miles of a Field Office.
  • Must have access to a personal truck for mobilization that’s in good working condition. A monthly vehicle allowance and fuel card will be provided.
  • Must be available to participate in the on-call rotation (typically 1–2 weeks per month).
  • This is an entry-level position. Previous experience operating and maintaining natural gas compressors (0–5 years) is preferred but not required.
