ABOUT THE COMPANY

Trinity Gas Storage, LLC will offer tailored gas storage services to meet the needs of a wide range of potential gas storage customers including Electric Utilities, IPPs, LDCs, Gas Producers, Industrial end-users, LNG and Gas Marketing entities conducting business in the Texas intra‑state market.

JOB OVERVIEW

The Compressor Mechanic is a Full‑Time Non‑Exempt position responsible for the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and optimization of large natural gas compressor engines and associated mechanical systems at Trinity Gas Storage facilities located near Tennessee Colony, Texas. This role supports safe, reliable, and efficient gas storage operations by maintaining compressors, dehydration equipment, auxiliary systems, and related infrastructure.

The Compressor Mechanic works closely with Operations personnel, contractors, and service providers to minimize downtime, maintain regulatory compliance, and ensure operational readiness of all mechanical systems. This position reports to the Operations Foreman and/or Operations Superintendent.

DUTIES
  • Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on large natural gas compressors, engines, pumps, coolers, dehydration systems, and related mechanical equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair compressor engine issues including ignition systems, fuel systems, lubrication systems, cooling systems, valves, cylinders, and rotating equipment.
  • Monitor compressor performance, pressures, temperatures, vibration levels, and operational efficiencies.
  • Perform compressor overhauls, alignments, and mechanical rebuilds as required.
  • Assist in startup, shutdown, and operational testing of compressors and associated systems.
  • Coordinate and oversee third‑party compressor service contractors and equipment vendors.
  • Maintain maintenance logs, inspection reports, work orders, and regulatory documentation.
  • Support pipeline, well, and facility operations during injection and withdrawal activities.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical failures and respond to emergency callouts, alarms, and urgent operational issues.
  • Assist with calibration and maintenance of gauges, instrumentation, and monitoring systems.
  • Support reliability initiatives and recommend improvements to compressor performance and maintenance practices.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, OSHA regulations, environmental requirements, and industry safety standards.
  • Conduct job safety analyses and participate in safety meetings and training programs.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards for compressor stations, shops, and operational areas.
  • Assist with inventory management and ordering of compressor parts, lubricants, and maintenance materials.
  • Stay current on new technologies, compressor systems, and industry best practices through ongoing training and certifications.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Strong knowledge of large natural gas compressor engines and associated mechanical systems.
  • Experience with Ariel compressors (KBD /6 /2), Caterpillar engines, Waukesha engines (WAUK 275-12 GL), or similar equipment preferred.
  • Knowledge of compressors, dehydration systems, pumps, valves, and rotating equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, piping diagrams, and maintenance procedures.
  • Strong troubleshooting and mechanical diagnostic abilities.
  • Knowledge of industry safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast‑paced operational environment.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and respond effectively to operational emergencies.
  • 7+ years of experience in natural gas compression, midstream operations, gas storage, or related industry experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of SCADA systems and field instrumentation preferred.
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license.
PHYSICAL DEMAND AND WORK EFFORT
  • Keying/typing, sitting, standing, walking, climbing, bending, kneeling, and lifting.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and operational environments.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and work around rotating and high‑pressure equipment.
  • Ability to travel, including but not limited to driving to various field locations, trainings, and operational facilities.
  • Ability to respond to after‑hours callouts and operational emergencies as needed.
  • Constant mental and visual attention required.
  • Compliance with company attendance standards.
