Magnolia Oil & Gas seeks an Ops Tech to join the Compression Team in Texas. You will troubleshoot VRU, Gas Jack, and Quincy pumps; perform field audits; size controllers; and assist with new VRU/Gas Jack installs, moves, and releases.

Monitor VRU performance and coordinate with Magnolia personnel and vendors for safe, efficient operations. Requirements include a high school diploma, 3+ years in oil & gas field ops, use of maintenance software and Excel, and strong communication skills.

• At least three years of oil and gas production or field operations experience required.
• Ability to use maintenance management software.
• Strong computer skills, including Excel and MS Office.
• Work across HSE, Compression, Electrical, I&E, and Chemicals.
• Demonstrated leadership with service providers and vendors' safety.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Magnolia is seeking an Ops Tech to join the Compression Team. This position will be directly involved in day-to-day VRU, Gas Jack, and Quincy pump troubleshooting; field audits; controller sizing; and aiding with new VRU and Gas Jack installations, moves, and releases. The Ops Tech will monitor and optimize VRU units and oversee vendor work as needed. This role requires regular communication and coordination with the Compression leader, compression vendors, Production Foremen, and other Magnolia employees.

Responsibilities

• Perform field audits and maintain documentation.
• Work with compression vendors to identify and eliminate safety hazards in accordance with HSER requirements.
• Work with Magnolia field personnel to identify operational issues.
• Track compression costs and update records for new installations, swaps, and releases.
• Install winterization equipment, including wind walls, for compression equipment.
• Size compression equipment based on facility needs.
• Verify environmental pots are in working order.
• Coordinate VRU maintenance and identify opportunities to improve runtime.
• Coordinate and verify air compressor maintenance.
• Follow up on equipment repairs to ensure quality and proper operation.
• Participate in an every-other-weekend on-call rotation and including responding to operational calls.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least one year of compression operations experience preferred.
• At least three years of oil and gas production or field operations experience required.
• Ability to use basic maintenance management software.
• Strong computer skills, including the use of Excel and other Microsoft Office applications to create cost tracking and reports.
• Ability to work across multiple disciplines and groups, including HSE, Compression, Electrical, I&E, and Chemicals.
• Demonstrated leadership skills in guiding service providers and providing safety leadership to vendors.
• Valid driver’s license and safe driving record required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Physical Demands

• Regularly works around chemical and mechanical systems and in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity.
• Noise level may be loud at times.
• Must be able to move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to lift and move equipment and/or pipes, provide support over time without fatigue.
• Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination and stamina.
• Frequently operates a computer, hand and power tools, and other equipment and machinery as required.
• Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder and/or stairs to install, inspect, service storage tanks and other equipment.
