EQT Corporation is offering a 12-week paid internship for aspiring engineers in the Pittsburgh, PA area. The Compression Engineer Intern role provides hands-on experience in midstream pipeline and facilities operations, supporting data collection, site visits, and asset documentation while learning safety and compliance requirements.

The program is designed for current engineering students with strong organizational and communication skills, and a willingness to work both in office and field

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field.
• Strong interest in energy/infra development or project execution.
• Basic understanding of engineering or construction principles.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally.

Responsibilities

• Assist compression engineering staff with day‑to‑day facility operations and maintenance tasks.
• Support data collection, field documentation, drawing reviews, and coordination activities.
• Participate in site visits, facility walkthroughs, or PSSR reviews as assigned.
• Help organize and maintain asset records, drawing redlines, and reports.
• Attend team meetings and shadow roles to gain insight into midstream operations and project execution.
• Conduct research, prepare presentations, or support small project initiatives under supervision.
• Learn and apply safety protocols and compliance requirements relevant to midstream operations.
• Collaborate with various departments to understand how engineering, construction, and operations work together in the field.
