Job summary

Vision NYC is seeking a comprehensive ophthalmologist with strong cataract and anterior segment skills to join our growing team across Manhattan and Queens. Fellowship training in cornea and external disease, anterior segment surgery, or glaucoma is strongly preferred, though qualified comprehensive ophthalmologists with excellent surgical training are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Develop a busy medical and surgical practice with established referrals.

Vision NYC is a physician led ophthalmology practice providing comprehensive medical, surgical, and refractive eye care across Manhattan and Queens. Our practice combines advanced technology with a personal, patient focused approach to care.

We treat a broad and diverse patient population, with a particularly strong need for the management of cataracts, glaucoma, keratoconus, corneal disease, ocular surface disease, and other complex anterior segment conditions. Our services include comprehensive ophthalmology, cataract surgery, laser cataract surgery, glaucoma surgery, premium lens technology, corneal cross linking, refractive surgery, dry eye treatment, specialty contact lens care, and routine eye care.

We are seeking a skilled and personable ophthalmologist to join our growing team and work across both our Manhattan and Queens locations.

The Opportunity

The incoming ophthalmologist will develop a busy medical and surgical practice supported by an established referral network, experienced clinical staff, optometrists, surgical coordinators, and a strong administrative team.

The position is well suited for a comprehensive ophthalmologist with strong cataract and anterior segment skills. Fellowship training in cornea and external disease, anterior segment surgery, or glaucoma is strongly preferred, although qualified comprehensive ophthalmologists with excellent surgical training are encouraged to apply.The physician will have the opportunity to treat a broad range of pathology while developing a subspecialty area based on training and professional interests.

Candidate Qualificationsmust:

• Hold an MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school

• Be eligible for or currently hold an unrestricted New York State medical license
• Be eligible for hospital, surgical facility, and insurance plan credentialing
• Demonstrate strong clinical judgment and appropriate surgical training
• Have excellent communication skills and a warm, patient centered bedside manner
• Be comfortable working collaboratively with ophthalmologists, optometrists, technicians, surgical coordinators, and administrative staff
• Be willing to provide care at both the Manhattan and Queens locations
• Fellowship training in cornea and external disease, anterior segment surgery, or glaucoma is strongly preferred.
• Experience with cataract surgery, premium lens technology, keratoconus, corneal disease, ocular surface disease, glaucoma management, and corneal cross linking is especially valuable.
