Job summary

The Los Angeles Cancer Network is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician to fill prescriptions at our Los Angeles clinics affiliated with OneOncology. You will provide professional customer service and verify insurance eligibility for prescriptions written to the in-office dispensary (IOD).

Responsibilities include obtaining authorizations, dispensing medications at clinics, entering and scanning documents into the EMR, and maintaining inventory.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in pharmacy or related fields.
• California Pharmacy Technician License is required.
• Knowledge of dispensing systems and equipment.
• Compounding/ad-mixture experience preferred.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Proficient with EMR systems and GE Centricity for billing.

Responsibilities

• Verifies insurance eligibility for prescriptions written to the IOD.
• Obtains authorizations for prescriptions written to IOD.
• Communicates with clinic staff and Direct supervisor on status.
• Dispenses medication at clinics.
• Enters/uploads/scans documents into the EMR.
• Supports departmental performance objectives.
• Interacts with other departments to resolve problems.
• Prepare medication and dispense; thorough follow-up with associates.
• Measure dosage per prescription orders and maintain professional etiquette.
• Provide pleasant and professional customer service to all customers.
• Monitor storage and inventory of medications and supplies.
