US Oncology Inc. in Chicago, IL is seeking a Medically Integrated Dispensary Pharmacy Technician to join our full-time team. Under the supervision of a physician, you will dispense oral oncology medications in-office, maintain records, and assist with IV admixture training as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum three to five years of experience in a retail pharmacy setting.
• Certified Pharmacy Technician certificate or State Pharmacy Board required.
• Prior IV admixture training is a plus.
• Demonstrates adaptability and resilience under changing conditions.
• Uses sound judgment to make timely, cost-effective decisions.
• Commits to quality and adheres to standards and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Maintains accurate patient records, demographics, medication profiles, disease states, allergies, insurance information, and prescription records.
• Documents all patient interactions and pharmacy-related activities in the EMR.
• Uses the pharmacy management system to process prescriptions and submit insurance claims.
• Conducts benefits investigations and submits prior authorization requests to payers.
• Assists patients in obtaining financial assistance through manufacturer programs and copay assistance foundations.
• Communicates with patients regarding prescription status, approvals, financial assistance, and medication access.
• Prepares and labels prescriptions in accordance with regulations; reviews for accuracy with clinical leadership.
• Ensures dispensing records are reviewed and authorized by nursing manager or physician.
• Obtains signatures for all dispensed medications.
• Supports medication adherence, refill coordination, and follow-up.
