Option Care is seeking a Compounding Technician in Las Vegas, Nevada to assist in preparing and dispensing medications. This role requires at least 1 year of pharmacy technician experience and involves working in a clean room environment.

Job Description Summary

Under the direction of a licensed Pharmacist, the compounding technician works in a clean room compounding medication at least 50% of the time to ensure safe, accurate, and smooth compounding operations.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist pharmacist with the preparation and dispensing of medications and supplies in accordance with OCH policies and procedures, and state regulations.
• Prepare medications so they are accurately compounded.
• Perform basic pharmaceutical calculations to obtain correct dosages.
• Accurately label and package medications.
• Participate in assessing, managing, and reporting medication‑related incidents.
• Ensure pharmacy surfaces and laminar flow hoods are cleaned and sanitized.
• Inspect equipment and document any failures or defects.
• Assist with recording and maintaining pharmacy temperature and cleaning logs.

Basic Education and/or Experience Requirements

High School Diploma or GED. Minimum of 1 year of pharmacy technician experience. Must be licensed or registered (if required by the state).

Basic Qualifications

• Experience providing customer service to internal and external customers, including meeting quality standards and evaluating customer satisfaction.
• Ability to perform basic and intermediate level mathematical calculations.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Word, including document formatting, editing, and printing.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including workbook creation, formatting, and basic functions.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, including slide creation, editing, and presentation.

Physical Demand Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching.
• Ability to carry at least 30 lbs.

Travel Requirements

None.

Preferred Qualifications & Interests

• Successful enrollment and completion of the OCH designated training course within 6 months of hire (if licensure and/or training course is required by the state).
• May perform other duties as assigned.

Pay Range

Salary range: $20.11 - $33.52 per hour, determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and market data.
