Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Certified Compounding Pharmacy Technician to join our Columbus, OH team. This permanent onsite role involves sterile compounding of IV and other preparations, following strict USP-797 standards and documented procedures.

Candidates must hold an active PTCB CPhT and have some compounding experience. Responsibilities include inventory control, patient profile updates in CPR+, and on-call support as needed.

Qualifications

• Active PTCB Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) required.
• Some compounding experience preferred (non-sterile acceptable if needed).
• Understand sterile compounding protocols and USP guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Mix IV and other pharmaceutical preparations using sterile techniques.
• Adhere to all documented instructions, warnings, procedures and best practices.
• Perform environmental monitoring, sanitation, testing, and USP-797 compliant activities.
• Maintain drug inventory through purchasing, receiving, stocking, counting, and tracking.
• Enter home medication lists and lab results into CPR+ for patient profiles when available.
• Clean the ante-room and cleanroom areas following USP-797 standards.
• Maintain cleanroom logs and verify lot numbers for inventory accuracy.
• Be available for on-call responsibilities as needed.
• Complete competency verification on hire and annually thereafter.
• Uphold HIPAA and confidentiality in handling patient information.

Certified Compounding Pharmacy Technician

We are seeking a Certified Compounding Pharmacy Technician to join our team in a relatively newer pharmacy. This role involves mixing IV and other pharmaceutical preparations using proper sterile compounding techniques, while adhering to documented instructions and best practices to ensure safe and effective drug preparation.

Responsibilities

• Mix IV and other pharmaceutical preparations using proper sterile compounding techniques.
• Adhere to all documented instructions, warnings, procedures, and best practices.
• Perform environmental monitoring, sanitation, testing, and other activities required by applicable federal and state pharmacy regulations and USP-797 standards.
• Maintain accurate drug inventory through purchasing, receiving, stocking, pulling, counting, and tracking according to established policies and procedures.
• Enter home medication lists and lab results into CPR+ for patient profiles when available.
• Clean the ante-room and cleanroom areas following USP-797 standards.
• Maintain cleanroom logs.
• Verify lot numbers and periodically check inventory accuracy.
• Provide availability for assisting with on-call responsibilities as needed.
• Successfully complete a competency verification plan upon hire and annually thereafter.
• Uphold confidentiality concerning proprietary company information and patient/client care, complying with federal and state confidentiality laws and HIPAA guidelines.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $28.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
