Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the Florida Department of Health.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Weighs, counts, measures, and mixes medication.
• Handles inventory to ensure the pharmacy is appropriately stocked.
• Receives written prescriptions, fills prescriptions or refills, and verifies that information is complete and accurate.
• Answers phones and responds to questions or requests.
• Fills bottles with prescribed medications, and types and affixes labels.
• Assists customers by answering simple questions, locating items, and referring them to staff.
• Establishes and maintains patient profiles and records.
• Transfers medication from vials to the appropriate number of sterile and disposable syringes using aseptic techniques.
• Supplies and monitors robotic machines that dispense medicine into containers.
• Prepares and processes medical insurance claim forms and handles insurance claim records.
• Adheres to University and unit-level policies and safeguards University assets.
