Job summary

Medix Staffing Solutions, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Compounding Pharmacy Technician to join a Phoenix-based pharmacy team.

You will prepare high-quality compounded medications under the Pharmacist in Charge, with emphasis on sterile and non-sterile compounding and strict adherence to quality and safety protocols. The ideal candidate holds a high school diploma, current national certification, and at least one year of experience, with strong pharmacy terminology and calculations.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Current national pharmacy technician certification.
At least one year of pharmacy technician experience.
Understanding of medical terminology and pharmacy calculations.
Ability to read, understand, and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Strong attention to detail, organization, and commitment to accuracy.
Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations and routine compounding assignments.

Responsibilities

Follow proprietary formulations to compound prescriptions into dosage forms.
Compound sterile injectables, ophthalmic preparations, oral liquids, topical agents, and tablets.
Participate in routine audits, inspections, and quality assurance activities.
Maintain a clean and organized compounding laboratory.
Perform maintenance and calibration of scales and equipment with proper documentation.
Monitor expiration dates and manage chemicals and ingredients.
Complete required continuing education related to compounding.
Follow safety procedures for handling hazardous substances.
Maintain familiarity with regulatory standards (cGMP, USP, FDA guidelines).
Collaborate with Pharmacist in Charge and QA personnel to ensure quality and accuracy.
