Non-Sterile Compounding Pharmacist

Independent, community-focused pharmacy in Kentucky featuring a state-of-the-art compounding lab.

Job Posting: Compounding Pharmacist (Non-Sterile, USP 800)

• Location: Elizabethtown, Kentucky (Independent Retail Pharmacy Setting)
• Employment Type: Full-Time
• Compensation: Competitive salary ranging from $115,000 to $145,000 per year (commensurate with experience), plus bonus opportunities.

Position Summary: We are seeking an active, detail-oriented Kentucky Licensed Pharmacist with a passion for community care and non-sterile compounding. In this role, you will work alongside our Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC), supported by an experienced team of pharmacy technicians, to accurately compound non-sterile preparations, verify prescriptions, and provide meaningful patient counseling.

Role & Responsibilities

• Custom Formulations: Perform accurate non-sterile compounding of specialized medications, including customized topical pain creams, bio-identical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT), pediatric suspensions, and veterinary formulations.
• Lab Management: Oversee and maintain daily operations within a state-of-the-art, USP-compliant compounding laboratory.
• Patient & Provider Consultation: Collaborate closely with local physicians, veterinarians, and patients to design personalized medication regimens and alternative dosage forms.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure strict compliance with USP guidelines, safety protocols, and quality control documentation.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Licensure: Active, unrestricted Kentucky Pharmacist License in good standing (Required).
• Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited institution.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of professional experience in community retail and/or non-sterile compounding preferred; strong new graduates with clinical rotation compounding experience will be considered.
• Certifications: Immunization delivery certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
• Skills: Excellent communication skills, meticulous attention to detail, and familiarity with community pharmacy management systems (Experience with PioneerRx is a plus)
