Fisica, Inc. in San Leandro, CA, is seeking a Composites C to join our Randtron unit onsite. The role bonds dissimilar materials into finished products, reads BOMs and assembly drawings, and ensures quality through the bonding process.

A high school diploma with extensive relevant experience, or an associate degree with related experience, is required. The position offers a 9/80 schedule, 5:30am–7:00am start flexibility, and opportunities in defense manufacturing. U.S.

Qualifications

• Requires High School Diploma or equivalent with 6 years of relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
• Ability to read BOM (bill of materials) and assembly drawings.
• Previous experience working with composites; defense manufacturing experience a plus; eligibility for security clearance (U.S. Citizenship).

Responsibilities

• Bond dissimilar material assemblies into semicontinuous or finished products.
• Layout articles, cut parts to size and apply bonding agents.
• Operate autoclave, hydraulic presses and ovens to complete bonding cycles.
• Monitor and verify quality of finished products and perform repairs per instructions.

Job Description

Position Overview

Bonds a variety of dissimilar materials (composite, metal, or laminate) assemblies, parts, skins, components, equipment or structures into semi-finished or finished products. Lays out articles, cuts parts or materials to size. Applies liquid or solid bonding agents. Operates autoclave, hydraulic presses and ovens to complete bonding cycle. Controls conditions of heat, pressure, and timing by setting and operating various controls according to the specifications for the materials and the bonding agent being used. Sands, burrs and smoothes over areas, apply sealing resins to cut or exposed edges. Monitors and verifies quality of finished product. Completes repairs on composite, metal or laminate bonded products using inspection and rework instructions. Verifies quality of finished product.

Overall Summary

Fully proficient support individual contributor. Works under limited supervision. May be a resource to other employees in areas of expertise. Assignments are moderately difficult requiring some judgment.

Works under limited supervision. Less detailed instructions are provided and minimal peer review is required.

Education & Experience

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $55,500-$102,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
