Job summary

McLaren Automotive is seeking a Production Operative to contribute to the manufacture of automotive parts using pre-preg composite materials. The role emphasises adherence to TAKT times and maintaining the highest quality standards across composite components.

You'll support the Team Leader, assist with training, ensure a clean and safe work area, and help develop processes to improve quality and efficiency, while meeting demanding deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Background in composites manufacturing and assembly/fitting essential.
  • Experience with pre-preg assembly and hand trimming.
  • Experience with CNC/robot operation and bonding processes.
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings/manuels.
  • Strong understanding of composite materials and quality issues.
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work with limited supervision.

  • Ensure the work area is clean, tidy and orderly, and maintain a safe working environment.
  • Proactively develop processes to improve quality and efficiency.

  • Production of Automotive parts using Pre-Preg composite materials.

  • Responsible for maintaining the highest quality standards on all manufactured composites components.

What You'll Do
Knowledge, Skills And Experience
  • A previous background in composites manufacturing and the associated Assembly/Fitting processes is essential.
  • Pre-preg assembly/fitting experience, including hand trimming parts and experience using various hand tools, CNC/Robot operation, Bonding processes using various adhesives etc.
  • Thorough understanding of composite materials.
  • Experience & understanding of Quality issues.
  • Has developed proficiency in a range of processes or procedures through job-related training and considerable on the-job expertise.
  • Must demonstrate previous experience of using their own initiative and work under minimum supervision.
  • Ability to read and draw information from engineering drawings/manuals
  • Have a good knowledge base of materials
