Job summary

McLaren Automotive is seeking a production operative with a background in composites manufacturing to join our team in Sheffield. You will work with pre-preg materials, mould preparation, lamination, and ensure high-quality standards across all components, while meeting demanding deadlines.

Responsibilities include supporting the Team Leader, contributing to training, maintaining a clean and safe workspace, and helping develop processes to improve quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Background in composites manufacturing, laminating is essential.
  • Pre-preg laminating experience including vacuum bagging and mould prep.
  • Thorough understanding of composite materials and quality issues.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and manuals; work under supervision when needed.

What You'll Do
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • A previous background in composites manufacturing and composites Laminating is essential.
  • Pre-preg laminating experience, including vacuum bagging, consolidation checks, demoulding parts and mould cleaning and preparation etc.
  • Thorough understanding of composite materials.
  • Experience & understanding of dealing with Quality issues.
  • Has developed proficiency in a range of processes or procedures through job-related training and considerable on the-job expertise.
  • Must demonstrate previous experience of using their own initiative and work under minimum supervision.
  • Ability to read and draw information from engineering drawings/manuals
  • Have a good knowledge base of materials
