Job summary

Stanley Black & Decker, Inc. in East Longmeadow, MA is seeking a Composite Weld Operator to join our manufacturing team. You will set up weld equipment, inspect beads, and maintain safety while producing components for quality brands.

Shifts run Monday through Friday from 3:30pm to 2:00am, with training until 12:00am. The role offers a starting hourly rate around $21.00 plus a 9% shift premium (to about $22.89/hour) and a $500 sign-on bonus after 90 days.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of charts, specifications, and micrometers.
• 1-2 years’ preferred experience.
• Use of numbers including decimals.
• Light physical effort required, 5–25 pounds.
• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Mount coils of backing material and run through deburring, washer, welder and detectors.
• Set up welder, install locks, replace seals; adjust beam, speed, voltage.
• Inspect welded material with a microscope for bead quality.
• Maintain ultrasonic cleaner and rinse tanks; perform routine cleaning.
• Monitor operation, adjust as needed and manage take-up coil transfer.
• Observe safety rules and wear required safety equipment.
• Perform other similar duties as assigned.
