Job summary

Nammo Defense Systems Inc. is seeking a Composite Technician to support production of carbon fiber tubes and related composite structures. The role involves fabricating, curing, trimming, and assembling parts in a high-precision environment within a defense-focused manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• 1-3 years of experience in manufacturing and processing of advanced composite materials preferred.
• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Ability to obtain BATF approval to work with our products.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development and optimization of composite tube production.
• Fabricates and cures carbon fiber composite tubes.
• Build laminated assemblies in a filament winding operation; apply composite, plastic and metal parts and adhesives onto tools or molds.
• Troubleshoot equipment and monitor process parameters; adjust equipment settings to meet drawings and requirements.
• Read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
• Set up spray booths to apply etching and primer to tubes.
• Load/unload winding mandrels into oven and run cure cycles.
• Pull mandrels from composite structures.
• Operate compression test machine to verify loads.
• Run daily production quantities.
• Recognize and report operational variances.
• Use a computer to download work instructions.
• Use precision measuring tools as needed.
