Job summary

Redwire Defense Tech in San Luis Obispo, CA is seeking Composite Technicians to join a hands-on team with strong material knowledge and PPE practices. The role spans entry to advanced levels, with pay based on a skills assessment.

Responsibilities include following safety policies, documenting production, fabrication and finishing of composite parts, and supporting tooling upkeep and process improvements. ITAR-related considerations apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to wear respirator up to eight hours.
• Stand for two hours at a time.
• Lift up to 50 lbs.
• Experience in fabrication, assembly, manufacturing, or engineering.
• Ability to read and follow drawings and procedures.
• Strong problem-solving and teamwork.
• Good communication and willingness to learn.
• Safety and quality minded with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Follow shop safety requirements and other relevant policies.
• Complete production documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Fabricate, layup, trim, finish, or paint composite parts per production documentation.
• Maintain production tooling following verbal and written instructions.
• Support improvement of processes and procedures.
• Support Engineering development as needed.
• Support problem solving activities for technical issues.
• Support the development and training of other team members.
