Position: Composite Technician - Kinston, NC

Only qualified candidates with the experience listed below will be considered for this position.

Job Description & Requirements:
  1. 2-5 years of experience in composites.
  2. Aerospace experience required.
  3. Must be able to start ASAP.
  4. Willing to work any shift, including overtime and weekends.
Responsibilities:
  1. Lay out, assemble, pre-fit, and bond various metal and composite laminate fabrications, assemblies, parts, skins, or equipment. Follow engineering and manufacturing specifications to determine bonding requirements, including temperature and pressure conditions. Cut parts or materials to size.
  2. Operate autoclaves, hydraulic presses, and ovens to complete bonding cycles. Sand, burr, and smooth over areas. Apply sealing resins to cut or exposed edges. Adapt process methods based on compounds, contours, and lay-up transitions. Perform rework or repair as needed. Monitor and verify quality according to procedures. Receive training to utilize lay-up tools, including optical and hard tools, for fabricating composite and metal assemblies.
  3. Obtain information from prints, charts, sketches, work orders, and electronic sources. Use shop mathematics and precision measuring instruments to ensure work meets specifications. Verify work accuracy and ensure equipment and tools are certified per procedures. Handle solvents and cleaning solutions safely for bonding and painting preparations. Perform routine machine maintenance.
  4. Move products within the manufacturing area using designated equipment, supporting the flow of production. Assist and train other employees as needed.
  5. Train to become MVP qualified. Additional duties may be assigned by leadership, with training provided as necessary.
