Job summary

Nammo Defense Systems Inc. is seeking a Composite Technician to support the production and optimization of carbon fiber composite tubes.

You will fabricate, cure, and assemble laminated tubes and related components in a filament winding environment, following blueprints and process instructions. You will troubleshoot equipment, monitor process parameters, and ensure parts meet drawings and internal requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development and optimization of the production of composite tubes
• Fabricates, cures carbon fiber composite tubes.
• Builds laminated assemblies in a filament winding operation, apply composite, plastic and metal parts and adhesives onto tools or molds.
• Troubleshoot equipment, monitor process parameters, adjust equipment settings as needed to obtain parts that meet customer drawings and internal requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings
• Set up spray booths to apply etching and primer compound to tubes
• Load/unload winding machine mandrels into oven, run cure cycles
• Pull mandrels from composite structure (de-mold)
• Operate compression test machine to verify proof loads
• Run daily production quantities
• Recognize and report all operational variances as trained
• Ability to use a computer and database to download work instructions
• Basic knowledge in using precision measuring tools, i.e. micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, etc.
