Position Summary

The Composite Technician manufactures fiberglass reinforced plastic (composite) parts needed to construct components of a boat/yacht, following build specifications in a safe and organized work area. These components include hulls, decks, superstructures, and other small to medium parts. We are seeking dependable, personable individuals with an eye for quality who are willing to learn. Experience in composites is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates a strong work ethic and enthusiasm for learning a new trade.

Job Responsibilities
  • Work with minimal supervision on a team to build specific composite parts per Tiara Yachts' instructions.
  • Complete lay-up or fabrication of engineered composite (fiberglass) structures.
  • Communicate product, process, or material issues to the team leader.
  • Perform physical tasks such as standing, lifting, bending, climbing, and working with various materials.
  • Have basic computer knowledge.
  • Pay attention to details and self-inspect work to ensure quality.
  • Validate processes and products to meet quality standards.
  • Assist in training team members to develop skills and improve performance.
  • Maintain daily labor records.
  • Prepare, use, and maintain composite tools, including resin dispensing equipment.
  • Use grinding, cutting, and trimming tools.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
  • Work on open molding, closed molding, and/or infusion processes.
Education and Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
General Job Requirements
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.
  • Promote a safe and clean work environment.
  • Willingness to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Follow manufacturing instructions and understand processes.
  • Adhere to PPE policies and safety guidelines.
