We are seeking a Composite Technician to support our NAVSEA Carderock customer. This position is contingent upon contract award.
Required Education: A high school/vocational degree or GED, and either (a) an American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC) Composite Boat Builder certification, or (b) at least three years of experience with hand lamination, vacuum-assisted resin transfer molding (VARTM), and prepreg lamination in an industrial environment. Ability to plan, prepare, and execute composite manufacturing and repair projects with a team.
Desired Education and Experience: Five years of experience performing laminations in a boatyard or shipyard; five years of experience assembling or repairing composite hulls, bulkheads, or components using adhesive bonding and mechanical fastening; and/or five years of experience fabricating and repairing cored composite components.
Security Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements.
