Rocket Lab is seeking a Manufacturing Specialist for the Neutron team. This role involves the assembly and testing of rocket components, requiring advanced knowledge in composite manufacturing techniques. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of industry experience and strong communication skills, contributing to innovative space missions.
Rocket Lab is a global leader in launch and space systems, enabling ambitious space missions worldwide. Our Electron rocket has provided reliable access to orbit since 2018, and our upcoming Neutron rocket will be a reusable, 13-tonne payload class launch vehicle designed for future mega constellations.
We are seeking a Manufacturing Specialist to join our Neutron team, focusing on the assembly and testing of pressurized tanks, unpressurized sections, and fairings for both S1 and S2 structures. The role requires expertise in composite manufacturing techniques, product knowledge, and a willingness to explore new building methods.
This position involves collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to execute test campaigns at various scales, emphasizing cost reduction and lean production principles. Effective management of timelines and delivery estimates is crucial to the success of the project. The role also entails addressing handling and logistic challenges, balancing rapid development needs with product specifications, and supporting the development of AIT facilities in NZ and the US.
